#ChampionMom - Planning Your Camping Trip This Summer
Sunday March 21, 2021
While it looks like travel may open up soon, the likelihood of being able to safely book a vacation this summer is questionable. However, that doesn’t mean you and the family can’t plan something fun instead!
It’s still perfectly safe to explore the outdoors right now, as long as you socially distance and avoid crowds of people. That means camping is back! Dust off the RV or tents and book a camping spot for later this summer. You’ll need to get this done quickly as reserved spots are already filling up.
If you can’t find an open reservation that works for you, many campgrounds offer First Come, First Served for their lots. If you want to try this approach, it’s usually a good idea to head out on a Thursday or early Friday morning to find a spot before they fill up.
Here are some websites you can check out to find a place to camp this summer:

Don’t be afraid to try a neighboring state, like Utah or Arizona, for your camping trip. Be brave and try something new with the kids this summer.
Also, don’t forget to brush up on your outdoor etiquette before you head out. Check out the Leave No Trace Foundation’s website to learn more about being ethical while enjoying the outside.
Worst case scenario? If you can’t find a camping spot, you can plan a backyard camping trip at home!
Getting outdoors and away will be good for everyone in the family.
