#ChampionMom - How a Busy Family Stays Organized and Sane
Sunday January 3, 2021
We’ve been through quite a year, right? As a Champion Mom, you’ve been busy trying to tackle it all: work (possibly a new remote role or seeking work in a new field or changing to a full-tie caregiver), school (navigating online and hybrid school options for the first time), and keeping everyone fed, clean, and healthy in the midst of a pandemic.
You thought life was hectic before 2020 but last year really showed you what you were made of, what was possible, and what you’d like to get rid of entirely moving forward.
How does a busy mom stay organized and sane in the midst of chaos? Here are a few tips:
- Clutter - It’s time to have a real discussion about material things. While minimalism may seem extreme for you and your family, there’s a reason so many people are flocking to doing more with less. It’s better for the environment and it’s better for your peace of mind. We aren’t suggesting getting rid of everything and rocking the minimalist style necessarily, but truly evaluating what you need vs what’s taking up space will help you organize your home, keep your space clean, and give you peace of mind.
- Accountability - With everyone at home more often (and on top of each other) it’s important to stress with your children that we are part of a working family unit and they need to be accountable for not only their own messes, but for helping the household run smoothly. Family meeting time! If you want to lessen the blow, give your kids a choice. What would they like to be in charge of keeping clean and orderly each week?
- Create a schedule - It’s far easier to stay on top of the mess if you do a bit each day. Instead of waiting for the bathroom to need a complete overhaul, make a schedule to do a little bit each day or week to stay ahead of the dirt.
Bring in professionals - If you are overwhelmed just thinking about getting started, call in the professionals. A one-time deep clean could help you jump start and get motivated towards a cleaner, more organized space for you and your family.
