Fun Places in Colorado for Those on a Budget

It's summertime here in Colorado, and that means one thing: Summer Vacation! That doesn't mean you have to spend the days inside! There are plenty of amazing and budget friendly options for us this summer. Here are some of our top favorite ways to enjoy Colorado without breaking the bank!

  1. Have you heard of "First Fridays"? It's a cultural movement in our state that opens art and culture to the population. For free. Colorado Springs and Denver offer open air tours of their art districts, and they're not the only ones. Look into your local area for First Friday events! There are also free days scattered throughout the year listed on the Scientific & Cultural Facilities District.

  2. Manitou Springs Penny Arcade is a tourist favorite and trust us when we say $5 will go a long way toward entertainment. And yes, every game costs you one cent!

  3. If you're in Manitou Springs, why not check out the Manitou Cliff Dwellings? It will cost you $10 per adult and $8 per child, but the season pass is the same price (plus the cost of admission) for a FULL YEAR. Since they have amazing holiday experiences and the "up-close-and-personal with the wolves" programs, it is completely worth it. You also get a 10% discount on all your purchases, so definitely check it out. Even better, they offer a Coupon ON THEIR SITE! You can't beat that.

  4. One of our favorite things to do is look for bargain trips or coupons for events in our local area. Groupon offers a lot of discount ticket options. Please note that we're not using affiliate links. This is something that has saved us a lot of money when we've traveled to new cities for work and vacation. It's a handy tip another budget traveler let us know about, and we thought we'd pass it on to you!

  5. If you're not interested in leaving your local area for the summer, look at your city or town's Chamber of Commerce page. There is also the Colorado Parent magazine website that is a great resource for families. Click on the "Events" tab to find out what family-friendly events are available this season! The best part is that most of these events are very budget-friendly.

  6. Season passes to local treasures and parks are another option. Do a price comparison of how many times you plan to visit (and that cost) and the cost of your season pass before you make your purchase.

  7. Have you checked your local Parks & Recreation district? They often have fun and free, or nearly free, events happening right in your community.

  8. Into retro arcade games and pinball machines? For $10 you can play from 4pm to 2am at the Hyperspace Arcade in Lakewood. No quarters needed!!

"WHAT'S FOR DINNER?!?!?!?"

"Oh man, I have no idea.  I had a rough day at the office, and there was a big wreck on the 25, so I am exhausted!  I know, let's order somethign in, we'll hate it, eat half of it, and throw the rest away.  How does that sound?"

"Sigh, again?  I guess that's okay."

It doesn't have to be like this.  With Chef Curry's Cuisine, you have a better answer.  You can have two weeks' woth of chef prepared meals. All catered to your flavor and nutrional needs, waiting for you in your fridge and freezer, for you to reheat and enjoy.

How much does this service cost you say?  $600?  Nope  $500? Getting Warmer  $400?  Almost there!

$350...for $350, you will have two weeks' worth of meals for a couple, waiting in your fridge and freezer.  This INCLUDES the price of the grocerires, that I buy almost exclusivly at my local Sprouts Farmer's Market.  If you have kids, no problem!  The cost for each additional 10 portions(two weeks worth of dinners for another person) costs $75, again including the cost of the food!

If this is something that sounds interesting to you(and come on, you KNOW it does) ;) please click on the "visit website" button to find out more about me, the service, and what deliciousness I can put in front of you.

Just to reinforce how much you KNOW you want to click, here are some pictures to start you salivating :)
