Honoring Mothers All Year Long
Sunday May 14, 2017
So Mother’s Day has come and passed, but who says we should only celebrate the moms in our lives just one day of the year? Champion moms work their tail off year round taking care of their families, communities, and homes. We think moms should feel appreciated year round and we hope that you would agree! We have created a list of different ways to honor the mom in your life to help you show her how thankful you are for her.
- Give Her a Break
We know that our moms work very hard 24/7. She deserves a break every once in a while! Plan a day every month or so that she can take just for her. It can be a spa day, night out with her girlfriends, or even some quality time with you doing some of her favorite things. Whatever you do, that day needs to be all about her.
- Write Her a Thank You Note
Maybe you have noticed that your mom seems more tired than usual or perhaps even a little, dare we say it… grumpy. Sometimes all she needs is a little encouragement and recognition for all the hard work she does. A thank you note can be as simple as a nice post-it note or a 2-page hand written letter describing all the ways you are thankful for her. A few kind words can make a world of difference.
- Buy Her Flowers… Just Because
Flowers are beautiful and so is your mom. Buy her her favorite flowers just because to help remind her that there is more in this life than checklists and to-dos. Flowers have the power to bring a little more life and love into a room. However, if she is allergic to them, maybe just stick to chocolate…
- Help Clean Up the House
Ah, a labor of love! Nothing says you love your mom more than gifting her with a clean house. Clean it yourself or hire someone to do it for you. Beautifully cleaned carpets and a shiny kitchen will brighten her day in more ways than one!
- Tell Her You Love Her
Most importantly, always tell her you love her. Whether you think she knows it or not, it is always a good rule of thumb to say “I love you.” to the ones we care about. Tomorrow is not promised, so let’s not leave this important phrase unsaid.
