#ChampionMom - Getting Into the Fall Spirit at Home
Wednesday October 18, 2017
OK Moms, the summer is officially over: the kids are back in school, the temperatures are dropping, and the humidity is no longer stifling. But instead of collapsing now that the summer rush is over, it’s time to do things for you to get into the fall spirit at home. Here are tips that you can use to enjoy this changing season.
Decorate
Decorating for fall often conjures up images of pumpkins and cornucopia centerpieces for Thanksgiving. But in reality, there are simple things you can do to spruce up your living area for the season. Choose throw pillows or fleece blankets that are “fall” colors such as orange, golden yellow, and earth tones like browns and dark greens.
Enjoy a fall themed product
Across the country, there is usually one clear sign that fall has officially arrived. We aren’t talking about the changing of the leaves or the cooler temperatures in the air. We are talking about the arrival of pumpkin spice everything! The pumpkin spice latte has given way to everything from pumpkin spice fudge to pumpkin spice vodka. So pick up something for yourself like a pumpkin scented candle to bring a little fall aroma into your home.
Make your own fall goodies
Now that the heat of the summer is over, it’s time to fire up the oven and get to baking. You’ve got the traditional pumpkin pies, but you can also get adventurous with a variety of caramel apples and pumpkin inspired cupcakes and cookies. And of course, you can pour yourself a hot apple cider or one of those ubiquitous pumpkin coffees.
Get spooky
Another great idea is to celebrate all things Halloween. Try curling up with a scary story like Rosemary’s Baby or House of Leaves. Any one of these creepy stories will get you into the spirit this Halloween.
Fall is a great time to center yourself a little more and focus on you and your needs. This fall, you can get into the spirit of the season by making some simple changes and taking advantage of fall inspired products that are only around for a few months each year.
